CBS News has announced that this Sunday, November 30, 60 Minutes will broadcast their story on the Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet cheating scandal. Anticipated by thousands of players online, the segment “The Cheaters” is expected to bring more public attention to the biggest scandal in online gaming with an effort to protect players.
The investigation was handled by both 60 Minutes and the Washington Post in an effort to find out how a group of online poker players caught a multibillion dollar company red The focus of the segment, and why we are writing about poker instead of slots in this article, is to show why regulation is needed not only for online poker but online casinos.
It’s not entirely sure if that is how the public will feel about online gambling after the airing of this segment, and for some they feel that it will only bring more uncertainty. Interviews with Mike Sexton, Greg Raymer, and Linda Johnson will be included in the segment. |

The winner was Gary Styczynski from Pearl River, New York. He is 42-years-old and is a part-time consultant and poker player. He is married and has two children.
Styczynski arrived at the final table with the dominant stack. He had nearly half of the total chips in play when eight-handed play began. It took him about four hours to win this final battle and take home his first WSOP gold bracelet.
The new poker champ has never cashed previously at the WSOP. However, he did cash three times at a recent poker tournament held at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.

Schneider is the author of a poker book called, “Oops! I Won Too Much Money.” He also hosts a regular radio show called “Beyond the Table” in Phoenix. Poker pro and former WSOP gold bracelet winner Annie Duke finished a less-than-satisfying third place in this event. This was her 30th in-the-money finish at the WSOP, dating back to 1994. I’ll take the bracelet,” Spegal joked. ESPN commentator Norman Chad ribbed Spegal during the post-tournament interview, noting “You are the only married man I know of who gets to play poker on his anniversary.” Spegal is 39-year-old former United States Marine. He was born in Newton, IA. He owns an equipment rental and UPS store in southeast Georgia. Spegal’s poker nickname is “Bob Cat Spegal.” The final table lasted approximately five hours.
